Settings for
Dial-Up Access:
(Your username is the first part of your email address;
ie johnd as in johnd@teche.net)
(Usernames and passwords must be in lowercase)

Click
Start
Click
Control Panel
Click
Network and Internet Connections icon
Click
Network Connections icon
Click
Create a New Connection
The
New Connection Wizard should appear.
Click
Next.
Connect
to the Internet should be selected, click Next.
Select
Setup my connection manually then click Next.
Connect
using a dial-up modem then click Next.
In
the ISP box, type in Bayoutech, then click Next.
Type
in dialup phone number: 3802400. (If youre in
Franklin, add the 985 in front
of the number)
Click
Next.
Fill
in your username.
Type
and confirm your password. (Make sure everythings in lowercase)
Click
the box Turn On Internet Connection Firewall for this connection
to uncheck the box.
Click
Next.
Click
in the box Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.
Click
Finish.
Windows
98
Double-click
My Computer.
Double-click
Dial-up Networking.
Double-click
Make New Connection.
The
New Connection Wizard should appear and prompt you to type a name.
Leave
My Connection there and click Next.
Enter
your local access number - 380-2400. If youre in Franklin,
put a 985 in front of the number not in the area code box.
Click
Next, then click Finish.
Right-click
on the My Connection and choose Properties.
Click
the box near Use Area Code and Dialing Properties to uncheck the
box.
Then
click on the Server Type button near the top.
Uncheck
all boxes except:
"Enable
software compression"
"TCP/IP"
Click
OK.
Right
click on My Connection and choose Create shortcut. Answer YES to
the question.
Close
the Dial-up Networking box.
Double-click
on Shortcut to My Connection. Enter your username and password.
Click
Save Password and Connect Automatically. Then click Dial. This will
connect you to the internet.
